Old Windmill & Observatory
+ My Favorites
The historically significant Old Windmill & Observatory was built in 1828 to grind grain for the convicts. It was refurbished and served as a signal post, a fire lookout, a museum and a meteorological observatory. Devonshire teas and smorgasbord barbecue lunches are available to the public between 1000 to 1500 hours.

Newstead House of Brisbane
+ My Favorites
The oldest residence in Brisbane, the historic Newstead House was once the social center of Brisbane. This Victorian style home was built in 1846 and quickly became a government house, hosting many formal receptions and important events in Queensland history. The American forces occupied the home during WWII, after which it was opened to the public as a museum. The Australian–American War Memorial can be found on its grounds. Newstead House overlooks Breakfast Creek and the Brisbane River
Queen Street Mall
+ My Favorites
The Queen St mall is the busiest shopping center in Brisbane. This outdoor, pedestrian only plaza is not only the fashion center of the city, and the business district, it is a cultural hub where the people of Brisbane have met for parades and celebrations since the 1800s. In the late 1880s, the strip was divided between retail and commercial business, but it remains a popular weekend spot for its social atmosphere, shopping and great café dining.

Brisbane's most famous landmark, the City Hall was built over 10 years between 1920 and 1930. Visitors can treat themselves to the City Hall Art Gallery and Museum on the first floor, or see the grand piano organ, one of the finest in the world, in the concert hall or take a lift to the top of the bell tower for an amazing view of the city center and the CBD.
